Jesus Christ died for you!
Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and He was buried, and He rose again the third day (1 Corinthians 15:3–4). By this gospel you are saved (1 Corinthians 15:2).
The love of Jesus Christ is so great for mankind that He came to this earth and walked among people to demonstrate His love. His three-year public ministry led Him to the cross where He shed His blood for us. The sins of mankind were placed upon Him who took our penalty for sin. Jesus bore our sins to set us free from sin. He conquered death and was resurrected for the purpose of giving abundant, eternal life to all who will submit to Him.
Jesus paid the full penalty, so we are declared not guilty! He was beaten, whipped, crucified on the cross and a spear was put through His side to ensure He was dead. He was placed in a tomb with a huge rock placed in front with several Roman soldiers guarding the tomb. Jesus arose after three days. 500 people saw the resurrected Jesus. Many saw Jesus ascend to heaven. Jesus is currently at the right hand of God reigning as King. The disciples of Jesus believed that Jesus is Lord and they died for their faith as martyrs. Jesus will return to earth and create a new earth for all His children.
The Prayer of Salvation
What must we do to receive His great salvation and all of the benefits of the life He died to provide? Repent, Believe, Declare with your mouth.
Repent means to acknowledge our sin. Then receive God’s forgiveness and to determine—with His help—to live for Him by faith. When we come to Christ in childlike faith and surrender to Jesus, we commit to Him that we will turn from sin and walk toward Him, desiring to obey His Word and follow Him. He empowers us to do this. We won’t be perfect, but His Spirit will guide us joyfully.
Romans 10: 9-13 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.11 As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in Him will never be put to shame.” 12 For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, 13 for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
If you don’t know Jesus or if you just need to come back home to God where you belong, believe in your heart and pray this prayer aloud, now. You will be made right in your relationship with the Father.
Jesus, come into my life. Forgive me of my sins that have separated me from you. I ask You to cleanse my heart and make me a new person in You right now. I believe that You are the Son of God and that You died and rose from the dead for me. You are alive and hear my prayers. Jesus, I want to thank You for loving me enough to die for me. I accept all that Your shed blood bought for me on the cross, and I receive You as my Savior and Lord. I choose to follow You, and I ask that you fill me with the power of the Holy Spirit. I declare right now, I am a born-again child of God. I am free from sin and full of the righteousness of God. In Your name I pray. Amen.
Welcome to the family of God. If you prayed this prayer to receive Jesus Christ as your Savior, you are a child of God! As 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, you are now a “new creature” in Christ and your slate is clean before the Lord. You now have a brand-new life of hope and blessing to look forward to. Being an heir of God entitles you to many benefits.
